A lion king's mane

My niece, Bintang, never fails to greet me "Lion King" on Saturday & Sunday mornings. Depressing.

You know, I went to perm my hair to get rid of the annoying after-rebonding-effect. So I thought a perm would be good to blend the natural waviness. But it turned out extremely dry as i coloured it on the same day as well. So much for hoping I'd get gorgeous hair like these:

 *sigh*

And so I've been surveying around for salons  that do hairspa/treatment. Well, I must say, there are aplenty. The difference is just the cost. Eversince I got engaged, I told myself that I must be thrifty and not just burn my bucks freely. Surprisingly, neighbourhood salons charge well above $100 -- comparable to those salons in town area.

So lucky me! I found a spa at the prestigious Nassim Road which does a 75mins hair spa at only $88 nett for long hair! Aint that cheap for a place at Nassim!

Made an appointment with them. Will update you after my visit.

Moroccan 1
Moroccan 2

Royal Pastel 1

Royal Pastel 2

So dropdead gorgeous right? Im so in love with these 2 ranges!

Moroccan is amazing, i know it will instantly lifts the atmosphere joyously. And it looks very posh & glam!

Royal Pastel is more soft (like me). It brings a more "royal" and classy feel.

I cannot decide!

Next league of the relay: Preparation for the big W

*Excited-mited mode*

I know, I know. The big W (hush hush now, i won't mention the word. Don't wanna jinx it.) is only 2 years away.. yes, tentatively will be in December 2013. But these butterflies in my tummy just won't stop fluttering about.

Okay, if you're wondering why in Dec'13, easy peasy answer from me & fiance: We want to accummulate as much money as possible. Not just for the W, but for our honeymoon, house (we got 1 bto! hurray!) and babies ya. I don't think I should mention this coz its brainless, but maybe I should still: ITS NOT CHEAP LIVING IN SINGAPORE.

So anyways, been doing some survey recently for various vendors for the many-necessities. Will share with you soon!

Black Butterflies

Hurrayy! I won this auction!

Only S$8, free shipping! If I had just decided to buy it without bidding, it would have cost me S$40 instead. Not worth I'd say.

Anyway God, it was utterly competitive! I thought, "huh ok, I'll bid the highest when it's 1 minute before the auction ends." But hey, suddenly the amount kept on increasing! Other bidders were already rapidly punching in numbers! I remembered I was like crazily continuing bidding. No way was I going to let others win it. It was at the last 2s and my heart was pounding and when my cold fingers keyed in US$7.01 and "Confirmed Bid"... Only to get to the screen saying "Auction has ended." I was.. well, down.

Suddenly I received an email from ebay stating that I was the highest bidder!! I thought my bid failed to get through! *phew*

I am just waiting for this to arrive and then I can decorate on my mirror. :)

fly fly oh butterflies... in my tummy?

I still get butterflies shuttering in my tummy whenever we are about to meet. I still get very excited. I still bother about my dressing - though I know you'd never mind.

Why oh why...?

It's very weird, bearing in mind we have been together for more than 8 years.

Ok so my decal from Korea has arrived!

comes in a 22" long tube

isn't this just amazingly pleasant to the eyes? im gonna paste this at the side of my window

If you are wondering, yes, this is a part of my engagement planning. And yes, there's more decals to come. Im gonna decorate my mini walk-in closet room coz it's gonna be quite an important room for all the makeup and dressing up will take place in there. Mom's gonna help me decorate her room which Im gonna use for the main part of the event. That said, when is H going to drill the mirror??

Another piece of good news: Sara just emailed me with regards to the complimentary Miracle Water (150ml) - as an appreciation gesture for appearing on their website. Woohoooo!

Made my day, for sure!

Ooooh wake up my senses.... and blow candles

Yesterday I went for Senzational facial.. Goodness, I've never felt more relaxed during the entire 85 mins session.

Sadly, though, just 2 weeks after the Purifying session, my pores were still clogged! And sooo stubborn! I thought I wouldn't be needing much extraction, but ooh boy was I wrong. Ended up with similar light reddishness on my notty nose and chin. :( Please please clear up soon...

But you know, that aside, I did notice that my skin was visibly brighter and fresher! Like... radiating! Overall its getting better by day. Ivy was sweet enough to give me some travel-sized LXP to further moisten my dry skin on top of Repair C. Guess the dry skin is due to my fasting. Oh wells.

Anyways, tomorrow's a PH! Whooooooo!

*fireworks* HAPPY 46th BIRTHDAY, SINGAPORE! *fireworks*

Cravings

Just a second ago, I was badly craving for sushi.. God, I love sushi.

(Picture courtesy of Hei Sushi http://www.heisushi.com/bookflip/bookflip.html)

I especially lovey loveee the Salmon Asparagus Teriyaki. Ooohh how the salmon is cooked to perfection, the sauteed asparagus, combined all that with the gooey goodness of the teriyaki sauce. Oh god.. one word: AMAZING! I still vividly remember the time when I actually (almost) licked the sauce of the plate! Wallah!

H is so sweet, he knows my love for food (though he doesn't indulge me too much) and so agreed to take me to Hei Sushi for break fast tomorrow. Yippeeee love! ~shakes booty~

*SUBHANALLAH... Godaan~*

Now I'm craving for:

Yes, the new kid on the fast food block: Chilli Chicken McGrill! Look at that... Pretty sure it's spicy, sweet and tantalizing on my taste bud!

So ok, I did it. Liberating! And really, I must thank SK-II for bearing such wonderful skincare. Ever since that day, I do not put on much make-up to work except mascara & lipgloss. Honest!

Row with the ribbons

Oh sod it. Tying these ribbons are soooooo troublesome and taxing. In fact, I am having a huge row with them! Yikkeess!

The knots always turned out unflattering: either slant 45 degrees or the long ends tend to flip on the wrong direction. God.. they are so.. wonky!

And Ibu is telling me to stop and go order some pre-made ones. Hassle-free. "You can keep them for some other occassions." -.- She starts digging her handbag for namecards.........

While Papi remarks, "You have spent money on these. Just continue doing them. Don't give up."

Bintang makes sure she voices out her opinion too:

Bintang: "Bibik, just keep doing. I'm helping you. When I'm big, I wanna do the same like you. But I will do them ALL myself."
Me: "All by yourself? You sure?"
Bintang: "Yes, coz I will not buy so much... like you." *cheeky smile*

Arghhh. I'm stopping. Gonna google for some pre-made ribbons. With adhesive attached.

Let's Fold!

Boring Sunday.

Aha! Rather than letting the day floats by to waste, I lugged the plastic bag full of unfolded favor boxes and ribbons to the living room. Time for me to get cracking!

For my engagement, I decided to get those diy favor boxes. But of course, I make sure that mine will be different - shape-wise. So in our quest to search for THE box, Kak Dewi & I searched high and low at Arab Street on Saturday.... and we found it in a little wicked shop! A pyramid! (will show you how it looks like as you keep on reading).

In order to make these boxes, here are the things which I require:

Satin dark chocolate brown ribbons. Each approx. 11" long.

Satin gold ribbons. Each approx. 11" long.

 And the pyramid boxes!

I like the fact that the boxes have textured motifs imprinted on them, so it doesn't look too plain and boring.

Oh look! Look who was there to offer her sincere help to assist me in folding the boxes?

Yes! Bintang! And boy, could she fold them really neatly! So as you can see above, that's how the boxes looked like once they are folded. Macam hantu kan? Hehehe. Actually those two holes allow me to tie a ribbon on the box.  Like this:

Tadaaaa!

Ok now i gotta go back and these ribbons now. Bintang's folding so quickly!

Purifying Facial

When my therapist, Ivy, went for her maternity leave last July, I stopped going for my facial as I thought there wasn't any other therapists who were as good as her (imo, of course). It's been a year now, and I finally called up the spa at Raffles City, only to find out that Ivy has been posted to the latest boutique spa at TripleOne Somerset. So I laid my steps there this afternoon. Very modern, zen & chic!

(Photos from Senzalus.com - SK-II Boutique Spa)

I nearly dropped the Simply Her magazine I was reading when I heard that familiar cute little voice squealing my name! It was soo good to see her again, and I gave her a huge hug! Ivy is very very small and petite; I felt like a giant standing beside her. Mind you, I am only 1.6m tall. O.o

And this was a present for her 1-year old baby girl:

Got this great whimsical dress from http://www.fairyandpixie.com/Home.php. It's fantastic as the bow on the right is detachable! Which means if little girl-girl doesn't stop sucking the bow (ever encountered kids who love sucking their dresses' ribbons or buttons?) or somehow just irritates the kid, Mummy can safely just remove it without the dress looking impaired! Genius!

So anyway after the chitter chatter to catch up stuff with each other, Ivy assessed my skin condition first as usual and then adviced on the suitable facial that I should go for the day.

Purifying facial so it was. Prior to it, she warned me that there would be some redness on my face which will take about one to two weeks to diminish. Well, I needed to get rid of those stubborn clog-goosh, right? Goodness me, I endured what seemed like half an hour of exfoliation and extraction! Don't know why or how, but my pores were kind of congested. Especially at the nose area. Im very religious at cleansing, toning & moisturising........So hmm. Anyway, when it was finally over *phew*, Ivy did a very relaxing facial massage to allow proper blood circulation. One and a half hour later, she brought a mirror: well, it wasn't as bad as I had expected. Just some tiny pinkish dots mostly around my t-zone and chin. Unlike what i had imagined:

Hahaha!

H came to meet me for dinner afterwards. He said my face looked visibly even more clearer and fresher, and that the red marks are not super visible unless you stare hard at my face. -.-

Can't wait to see Ivy again for my next facial in two weeks' time! Hurray! (Psst: yes, this is part of my preparation to look glowy and radiant for that day. Hehehe.)
